In the wake of Trump doubling down his defense of white supremacist, hate groups, Rick Scott refused to criticize the President and then shamelessly hopped on a plane to return to Trump’s side. For Florida’s Future Communications Director Blake Williams released the following statement:

“Rick Scott racing to break bread with Donald Trump after his unhinged remarks absolving violent hate groups of guilt in Charlottesville shows he has either already moved on from Trump calling Nazis “very fine people” or was never seriously bothered by it to begin with – either of which is extremely troubling, and disqualifying as a public servant. Governor Scott needs to denounce Donald Trump and his political rhetoric which has emboldened these groups.”
