Florida University Student Organizations Host Debate Watch Parties, Connecting Events with Importance of Voting in 2016

September 23, 2016
A statewide coalition of progressive students mobilize to #DumpTrump.
On Monday September 26, For Florida’s Future’s campus chapters will work with allied campus organizations to host debate watch parties for the first presidential debate. The debate will feature Hillary Clinton’s positive vision for moving America forward together with Donald Trump’s bigoted and divisive campaign. Some of the diverse groups of student organizations helping to build these events include the Black Student Union, Caribbean Student Association, IOTA, MDC Pride and National Organization for Women amongst others.

The next president will be responsible for making college affordable, reforming our broken criminal justice system, taking action on protecting our planet against climate change, appointing the next Supreme Court judges and so many other crucial issues.

Millennials, America’s largest generation, know that they cannot put their future at risk by allowing Donald Trump, a man who dismisses climate change as a “Chinese hoax,” has failed to put together a higher education plan and promises to appoint conservative anti-choice judges to the Supreme court, get his tiny hands close to the White House.

This is why For Florida’s Future campus organizers are partnering with various student organizations across the state to energize millennials and turn out the vote for Hillary Clinton in November.

Student leaders will be available for comment on the record at these watch parties. For information on time and date go to For Florida’s Future’s Facebook page.
