The Alliance for Retired Americans Asks Rubio to Sign Pledge to Expand, Not Cut Social Security
JACKSONVILLE – Florida retirees angry with Senator Marco Rubio gathered outside his Jacksonville office to demand the Senator pledge to protect Social Security, a program that affects more than 1-in-5 Floridians.
Seniors have learned they can’t trust Florida’s first term Republican Senator who has said Social Security and Medicare have “weakened us as a people” and are “bankrupting this country”. Senator Rubio has also garnered a zero voting record for retirees according to the Florida Alliance for Retired American’s (FLARA) report card, which FLARA Secretary Barbara DeVane is bringing to Rubio’s office along with a pledge to support expanding–not cutting social security.
