WATCH ‘Rick’s Recession’ tour held a press conference in Gainesville

“Governor Rick Scott came to Ocala last week, talking about the number of jobs created during his time in office.People in the ‘Rick’s Recession’ tour say there is more work that needs to be done for Florida families. ‘A lot of folks are being left behind. making sure people are earning a living wage is actually a jobs plan,” Alachua County Commissioner Ken Cornell said. “When you put an extra dollar or two in people’s pockets that are working full-time, often times two or three jobs, that money gets immediately spent back into the economy.’”

USF students rally for protection of undocumented immigrants
“Given the uncertainty surrounding their future residency, it came as no surprise that no current undocumented immigrants spoke personally of the trouble they have faced as they and their families made a living in America. Instead, members of UndocUnited USF, who organized the event along with For Florida’s Future, took turns reading stories given to them by immigrants.”

This time, it was For Our Future and other groups pressing a combination of state, local and federal liberal causes as part of the statewide Awake The State rallies.”
